A lot of close matchups this week and standings reflect this for the most part too. Only 1 team undefeated and only 1 team winless. The winless team should be completely ashamed of themselves and told me they are actually accepting all trade offers to shake this team up even though he really liked the squad before the start of the season.
Just as a follow up as well, we need five vetos for a trade to be voided. 5 vetos are half of the commissioners not involved in a trade in case you were wondering.
On to the updates.
Show Me Your TDs vs. Nick Got This – Show Me did not find enough TDs this week to overcome the onslaught of Nicks led by the amazing and all powerful Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers’ 48 points was more than half of TDs’ team total this week. Nicks Got This had his namesake also drop 22 and this matchup was over as soon as the Packers received the ball. TDs had a solid week and could have defeated half of the league, but ran into the buzzsaw this week.
Raw Dawg Kings vs. Blount’s Blunts – Raw Dawg left two more experienced QBs on his bench and went back to the Cam Newton well this week and the move was a good one to the tune of 31 points. Unfortunately Blunts needed only 6 from Blount on Monday night and got that and more on his way to the 4th win of the season. Blount’s Blunts even left 28 from Matt Forte on his bench and then traded the man and came up with a victory. Andre Johnson coming up limp for Raw Dawg might made a big difference in the matchup as only 3 points from your #1 pick will usually leave you shorthanded.
Singletary’s Bad Dream vs. Goldteef Shinin’ – This was the closest matchup of the week and delivered a great game throughout. Goldteef made a nice call going with the Redskins over his early defensive choice of the Steelers and Singletary was rewarded for believing in a gimpy Beanie Wells for a huge 31. That 31 kept the Bad Dream alive going into Monday night with a choice of Reggie Wayne versus Pierre Garcon and down 9 points. Would have been tough to play Garcon over Wayne, but maybe last week’s connection between Painter and Garcon could have foreshadowed the big game coming last night. Singletary had to sit and watch Pierre come up with 32 points while Wayne made just a few short catches and leave himself 5 points shy of the victory. Playing San Diego over the Vikings could have also saved Singletary’s day and might have him living this week for bad dream over and over.
Rock Chalk vs. I’m Lovin’ the West Side – this matchup had a number of players left on the bench scoring big points but in the end the West Side was lovin’ who he played this week. Even though he left Witten, DeSean and BGE on the bench for a net loss of 34 points on his bench, West Side pulled out his third win of the season thanks to Rock Chalk leaving all 19 of Romo’s points on the bench in favor of the monster 2 from Cutler. This move alone would have secured Rock Chalk with his first victory but instead is left as the last winless team in the league.
Team Grape Leaves vs. Prestige Worldwide – Another bad choice at QB made the difference in this matchup. Grape Leaves got his first win of the season Frank Gore coming back to life even though he did not start the game and Gresham turning in a solid 13 point outing. It was the 2 points from Flacco versus the 23 from Freeman on the bench that killed Prestige and left him at only one win though. QB choices are hard week to week and Worldwide became the second victim of awful QB play.
Cromartie + 8 vs. Mike Vick in a Box – what a great matchup featuring two teams crossing the triple digit barrier. Mike Vick in a Box got going quickly with 29 from his namesake and other solid calls with Sproles and Sidney Rice racking up big points. He had to be feeling pretty good as well being up 22 points going into Sunday night left facing only a defense. Of course Sunday night was probably an excruciating game to watch as the Baltimore Defense rolled up 29 points and the huge comeback victory for Cromartie. Mike Vick might be considering a different defense this week as he took a negative 2 from the Dallas D when a possible switch to anyone else on the open marked could have netted him the few points he would have need to secure a win. Touch matchup and horrible way to go down.
Move of the Week: Goldteef put his draft behind him, picked up the Redskins Sunday morning and played them over the once powerful Steelers. This last second move secured the narrow victory and got Goldteef his second straight win.
Oops of the Week: Rock Chalk and Prestige were in the running, but Singletary’s Bad Dream wins the award losing by 4 and having two different options at WR and DEF make the difference in his matchup.
Team that Wish They Played Someone Else: Mike Vick in a Box wins running away being able to beat 9 of the 11 teams in the league this week, but unfortunately having to play against the 109 and Ravens D and suffering another loss.
Team Glad they Played Who They Did: I’m Lovin’ the West Side only could have beaten the two scores of 62 this week and got lucky enough to play one of them.
